For those of you who don’t know us, I will give you a little of our background. Jim and I and our two children started rock collecting while we lived in Illinois. We traveled to all the close areas there to collect Flourites & Calcites, in Indiana to collect Pyrite and Dolomite, to Iowa to collect Geodes. As our collection grew and grew, we decided we would open a rock shop, Fiddlers Ridge at our home there, that was in 1973. It turned out to be very successful we loved seeing all the people then, and even had customers come from Germany. Their preferences were the Pyrite suns from out of the Coal Mines in southern Illinois. Then in 1982 we claimed up some mines in the Mt.Ida Arkansas area, to mine quartz crystals. In 1984 we moved down here and in 1986 we built a new rock shop and used the same name, “Fiddler’s Ridge Rock Shop”. Jim and I are still here at Fiddler’s Ridge after 30 years, and still loving it and meeting all our old and new customer’s/friends after all this time. ~Thanks! Jim & Kathy Fecho, Owners
